Theatre in London for the Family this Christmas

Christmas is the perfect time to take your little ones to the theatre, and many of us start out with Panto, however, there’s a multitude of options, and here are some of our top picks of which Christmas shows the whole family will love

Guess How Much I Love You
This childhood classic comes to life at the Arts Theatre this Christmas. Explore the playful story of love and nature as it unfolds on stage through puppets, live music and interactive play for children 3 years and up. It’s the perfect family treat!

    The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Over at the Ambassadors Theatre, you’ll find the story of a greedy caterpillar that just wants to eat everything in sight! The timeless classic has now made its way off the page and onto the stage – so gear yourself up to enter a bigger and brighter world this festive season!

    The Gruffalo’s Child
Following on from The Gruffalo’s West End success comes The Gruffalo’s Child - with attitude! The Gruffalo said that no Gruffalo should ever set foot in the deep dark wood... but one night she ignores her father’s warning and tiptoes out into the snow. But just how brave is she? Find out for yourselves by joining her at the Lyric Theatre this Christmas.

    The Snowman
Celebrating 20 spellbinding years on the West End stage, the magical live version of Raymond Briggs’ much-loved children’s classic has established itself as a festive family favourite that continues to delight audiences of all ages. Let’s face it- who doesn’t love this heart-warming story? Check it out over at the Peacock Theatre and prepare to melt!

    The Christmasaurus
Based on the best-selling novel of the same name, created by Tom Fletcher; for one week only catch The Christmasaurus live at the Eventim Apollo. Expect music, animation, magic and a star-studded cast. This is a show for all the family and especially for children who believe in Santa Claus and are on the nice list!

Dick Whittington at the London Palladium
No family festive theatre list would be complete with at least one Panto mentioned! Following the success of last year's Palladium Panto revival, this year is the turn of Dick Whittington. Follow him on his adventure through London, and prepare to belly laugh and spot theatre favourites such as Elaine Paige, Julian Clary and Charlie Stemp (to name but a few!).

Round up the family and book your tickets today. Don’t forget to let us know on Twitter @theatre_direct, which festive show will you be attending this season! Wishing you all a Merry and theatrical Christmas time!
