    THE AWKWARD SQUAD AT THE ARTS FOR LIMITED SEASON

    TV stars are taking to the stage at the Arts Theatre as part of a UK tour of the play The Awkward Squad.  Playing in the West End for a limited run from 6th March to 7th April with Press Night on 8th March.

    BAFTA-winning Emmerdale writer Karin Young has written a play that  is a state-of-the-nation comedy, taking a sideways look at the challenges faced by modern women of all ages.

    Barbara Marten as Lorna will be known to viewers from Casualty and Coronation Street.  Her theatre credits include the role of Mistress Quicky in Henry IV Parts I & II at The Globe.

    Charlie Hardwick as Sandy has been on tv in Emmerdale and in the film Purely Belter.  She has also won the best actress award at the Monte Carlo International Television Festival in 1998 for her role in the film The Scar

    Libby Davison as Pam is known to viewers for her role in The Bill and has a recurring role in Hollyoaks.

    Lisa McGrillis as Sarah has theatre credits that include Much Ado About Nothing and The Globe Mysteries (Shakespeare's Globe), and Pitmen Painters (National Theatre and Broadway).  The production will be directed by Fiona Macpherson.

    The Awkward Squad premieres at the Customs House in South Shields from 28th February before coming to the West End at the Arts Theatre and then will go to the York Theatre Royal.
