Les Dennis and Warwick Davis join Spamalot cast!

Comedian-turned actor Les Dennis has now joined the cast of Spamalot at the Playhouse Theatre as King Arthur and will be in the role until 2nd November.  From 23rd September to 19th October he will be joined by pint-sized Star Wars and Willow star Warwick Davis as Patsy.  Musical theatre legend Bonnie Langford will remain in the role of The Lady of the Lake until the ens of the show's run, the 2nd November.

Dennis has previously trodden the boards in the West End in Chicago, Me and My Girl and Legally Blonde The Musical, and is well known for his hosting of Family Fortunes and much-publicised eight-year marriage to Amanda Holden.   He moved into acting with roles in Brookside, Family Affairs and the short-lived but fondly remembered revamp of Crossroads.  His film debut was in 1996 alongside Julie Walters and Rupert Graves in Intimate Relations.  His theatre roles have included national tours of Art, High School Musical 2 and Hairspray.

Three foot six inch Warwick Davis made his film debut in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in 1983.  Originally cast as an extra Ewok, he was promoted to the role of Wicket by director George Lucas when he saw how well he carried himself in his original casting.  He went on to appear in the title role in Willow alongside Val Kilmer and also headed the Leprechaun film series.  He played the role of Professor Filius Flitwick in a number of the Harry Potter films and has also starred in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and the 2005 film version of The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy.  Both Davis and Dennis have appeared as fictionalised versions of themselves in Ricky Gervais' comedy series Extras.

The Spamalot musical is based on the 1975 film Monty Python and The Holy Grail and made its West End debut in 2006 at the Palace Theatre where it played until 2008.  A subsequent UK tour was followed by a summer season in 2012 at the Harold Pinter Theatre.  This limited season at the Playhouse Theatre will see the show in residence there until 2 November.
