    HORRIBLE HISTORIES-BARMY BRITAIN AT THE GARRICK THEATRE

    Set in loathsome London, the Birmingham Stage Compnay proudly present the world premiere of Horrible Histories-Barmy Britain at the Garrick Theatre from 14th February to 1st September 2012 during the day with Chicago on stage in the eveing.
     

    The Horrible Histories series comprises of 50 titles and have sold over 25 million copies in 40 countries.  Written by Terry Deary, Horrible Histories - Barmy Britain is adapted from his books by the author himself in collaboration with Neal Foster and Ciaran McConville. 

    The production is also directed by Neil Foster who's credits also include The Firework-Makers Daughter, The Jungle Book, and George's Marvellous Medicine. In addition, his production of Skellig recently played at The New Victory Theatre.

    The Birmingham Stage Company have been staging the series for over 10 years.

    The show comedically explores stories from Roman, Tudor, Stuart, Georgian, Victorian and World War I periods and features famous characters such as Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, Guy Fawkes, Florence Nightingale and General Earl Haig.

    In the opening production, Rex will be played by Benedict Martin and Queenie by Lauryn Redding.  The show, suitable for 6 years and over is sure to be hit with the children providing both entertianment and education.
